This Test Method describes colour and gloss measurement of painted and unpainted plastic surfaces. The measuring geometries to be applied are described. In addition, permissible colour and gloss deviations are indicated.
General. The colour and gloss measurement is always an auxiliary means applied to support visual inspection methods. In case of doubt, the visual comparison with the master sample is decisive for an approval or rejection of a sample.
