SCOPE This test method shall be used to determine the adhesive strength of single shear overlap mate joints by stressing the joint with tenaile loads parallel to the adhesive surfaces. The test shall be predominantly used for assessing the usability and quality of adhesives and comparing the effect of bonding conditions on the adhesive strength obtained, and for comparing the effect of conditioning and treatments given to the test pieces subsequent to their adhesion.¿
