Purpose.

Measurements for recording the characteristic data of passenger vehicle power steering pumps.

Foreword.

This specification defines measurements for operational checks or recording of power steering pump performance data and pump type-related characteristic data.

The individual measurements are contingent upon their purpose.

Measurements are consolidated under the following groups for ease of measuring:

• Standard measurements (for operational tests and generally as base measurement)

• Additional measurements 1 (influence of pressure on flow control behavior)

• Additional measurements 2 (additional speeds)

• Cold measurements (low-temperature behavior)

• Performance measurements (power consumption under different operating conditions)

• Maximum pressure (maximum pressure for servo basis malfunction) 

Applicability.

All pumps for passenger vehicle hydraulic power steering systems (HPS) with a flow rate of 10 l/min max.

Definitions. Not applicable.
