Scope

This specification defines the minimum performance requirements for automobile carpeting materials. Such materials generally consist of a pile (looped or cut) of natural and/or synthetic fibres securely woven OT needled into natural and/or synthetic woven or non woven primary backing medium, or of consolidated/needled textile type fibres. The materials shall be securely nlockedn by a secondary backing of natural or synthetic polymeric material, dependent upon application. The material may be supplied as roll stock, finished cut and/or moulded components. The actual construction, materials of construction and delivery form will be shown on the relevant engineering drawing and/or material release. Regardless of construction, all materials (parts), in all colours, supplied to this specification shall comply with all the requirements of this specification.
