Scope

This specification covers the basic minimum requirements for leathercloth materials consisting of woven or knitted base fabrics made from synthetic, cellulosic, or mixed fibres, coated with an essentially continuous layer of plasticised and pigmented poly vinyl chloride resin, with or without (according to class - see 4.1) an interposed layer of cellular poly vinyl chloride (i.e. blown PVC>. The characteristics of the base fabric and of the coating shall be such that the finished material suitable for use in automobiles for trimming seat cushions andsquaba, and other trim applications which may include dielectric welding. e.g. side walls, door panels etc. Additionally the siaterial may be required to be perforated.
