This standard contains regulations of screws with external hexalobular driving feature made out of aluminium alloys (AL9) and metric thread according to ISO 261 and ISO 965-2.
Screws according to this standard can be used up to temperatures of +150 °C (long-term stability > 1000 h at +150 °C shall be ensured, maximum drop in strength properties 10 % relative to UTS) and should be used by way of preference for bolted joints in aluminium- and especially in magnesium alloys.
Usage of uncoated components of ferrous metals combined with AL screws is not recommended.
