Material Description. This specification defines general requirements for raw materials of polypropylene copolymer interior or exterior parts of a vehicle.
Material Types.
Group 1. Raw materials whose melt flow index is 0.2 ~ 2, which have low rigidity but excellent impact strength.
Type 1. Raw materials for injection molding. Ex) Rocker Panel.
Type 2. Raw materials for blow molding. Ex) Seat Back Frame, Air Duct.
Group 2. Raw materials for injection molding whose melt flow index is 1 ~ 5, which have low rigidity but excellent impact strength. Ex) Cover Back Panel, Deflector.
Group 3. Raw materials for injection molding whose melt flow index is 4 ~ 15, which have high rigidity and impact strength.
Type 1. Raw materials which have high rigidity and impact strength. Ex) Heating Duct.
Type 2. Raw materials which have high impact strength and have excellent melt flow. Ex) Fender Liner.
Group 4. Raw materials whose melt flow index is 15 ~ 30, which have high rigidity and impact strength for injection molding of large, complex, and thin products. Ex) Door Trim, Pillar types.
Symbols. Material indication: < PP >. Detailed contents shall conform to the indication method of synthetic resin materials for vehicles. (Spec. No: GMW3116).
Typical Applications. This specification shall be applied to raw materials of polypropylene copolymer used in all passenger cars by GM DAEWOO Auto & Technology Company (hereinafter referred to as the "GMDAT").
