Material Description.
Material Types.
Group 1. Talc filled raw materials which have excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability and use high crystalline PP as base especially for the improvement of impact strength, scratch resistance and rigidity. Ex) Instrument panel peripheral parts, Console.
Group 2.
Type 1. Talc filled raw materials which have excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability and use PP Copolymer as base for the improvement of impact strength. Ex) Interior trim pillars, Rear side panel, Arm rest, Trim quarter panel, Heater case.
Type 2. Talc filled raw materials which have excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability and use PP Copolymer as base for the improvement of impact strength and have good sheet adhesion. Ex) Center load compartment.
Group 3. Talc filled raw materials which have excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability and use PP Homopolymer as base for the improvement of rigidity. Ex) Speaker housing.
Group 4. Talc filled raw materials which have excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability and use PP Copolymer as base and blend low content rubber for the improvement of impact strength. Ex) Deposit box.
Symbols. Material indication: greater than PP-T20 less than. Detailed contents shall conform to the indication method of synthetic resin materials for vehicles. (Spec. No: GMW3116).
Typical Applications. This specification defines general requirements for raw materials of 20% talc filled polypropylene applied to interior and exterior parts of a vehicle. Details for typical applications see paragraph 1.1.1.
