This specification shall apply to the boots of the ball joint unit(or dust cover) used for wheel suspension or steering system. There is two type of boots that specified as follow.
Type A : For normal use on passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
Type B : For use in arduous conditions, such as heavy commercial vehicles.
PURPOSE
This specification covers the material and test requirements for elastomeric ball joint boots for automobiles. And specification the approval and management of the quality of it.
