Two types of label are specified according to adhesion of label.

Type 1 : Covers labels of the so called " self destructive" type i. e. where any attempt to remove such labels from the substrate to which they are adhered, results in destruction of the label.

Type 2 : Covers all the types of labels designed for essentially permanent attachment to vehicles.

Additionally each type of label is subdivided according to applied compartment..

Class A : Covers labels used externally and within the engine compartment

Class B : Covers labels used within the passenger compartment.

PURPOSE

This specification details the requirements for pressure sensitive self adhesive labels (hereafter referred to, the "label"), suitable for attachment to motor vehicles on either exterior or interior surfaces.
