This standard specifies the method of proof load test for external thread parts(1) such as bolts and screws.

Note(1): The thread of the bolt shall be 4mm or more in nominal diameter(D), and 3D or more in length.

PURPOSE

This standard aims at helping test personnel perform the test in an appropriate method by describing the measuring method of permanent strain when applying the stress to the bolt under a specified load less than yield stress (stress at permanent set limit Rp0.2).
