Test Exclusion Parts

Contents of sealed parts, contents of electric/electronic parts, all Switches/Fasteners/Clips, Seat Belt Buckles, and Knob Insert Materials are excluded from Odor Test.

Single parts that with dimensions smaller than 2Cm x 2 Cm x thickness or lighter than 3g are also excluded. (For items that are attached to a part, test them as attached.)

The test shall apply to all automotive trim materials including Cloth, Fabric, Sheet, Carpet, Padding, Insulation, Felt, and Foam but excluding items of 2.1.1 and 2.1.2.

PURPOSE

This standard aims at specifying the method of evaluating propagation of odor from automotive interior materials (body cloth, coated fabric, sheet, carpet, padding, insulation, felt, foam, etc.) under high temperatures and high humidity.
