This standard shall specify the test method which determines the presence of defect on the painting surface after scratching the protective paper of the automotive deadener material under the specified condition. The silicone or other contaminants can cause defects in paint finishes if inadvertently transferred to substrates prior to painting.
PURPOSE
This test standard shall be used to determine the presence of silicone or other possible contaminants in the protective paper covering of deadener pads used in automotive body trim.
