This test standard shall be used for the determination of the stiffness of sound deadener pads ; particularly those used in the engine compartment of automobiles. It should be particularly noted that excessively stiff pads can give rise to assembly problems whilst excessively flexible pads may not be adequately retained during service.
PURPOSE
This test standard shall be used to determine the stiffness of deadener pads used in automotive engine compartment.
