This standard applies to assessment of interior film thickness of currently used electro-coating paint and fresh paint by their external film thickness. This is an important test for validating paint characteristics for development of electro-coating paints.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this standard is to specify the lab simulation test procedure for comparing and predicting characteristics formed by electro-coating paint penetration into vehicle interior such as Door Inner, Longe and Rocker Panel Inner during the electro-coating process. This test compares film thickness of the interior with external film thickness formed under certain conditions in order to assess throwing power of electro-coating paint penetration.
