1 SCOPE.

This specification covers the physical, chemical and performance requirements of a relatively slow evaporating aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent typically used for cleanup of oily type residues from metal surfaces before surface treating, and removal of some types of cements and sealers from finished surfaces. It is also used as a diluent for greases and other materials. This solvent should not be used as a final wipe prior to prime and topcoat painting because of its slow drying characteristics and potential for leaving residues which may affect paint durability.
