1 SCOPE.

This specification covers the requirements for a thermosetting, sandable, high solids, solvent-borne, spotting surfacer that is applied by spraying and is subsequently topcoated with acrylic lacquer color coat. The spotting surfacer is intended for wet-on-wet use over a high solids primer surfacer where metal imperfections require a heavy, easily sanded filling material. The spotting surfacer may also serve as a guide coat to warn against excessive sanding when the primer surfacer has been reached. These coated surfaces have additional requirements set forth in the specifications for subsequent coatings.
