This specification covers the physical, chemical and performance requirements for Methyl Amy1 Ketone (MAK), a ketone type solvent used primarily for paint reduction. Because of objections to its odor in some applictions, use of this solvent has been eliminated or greatly curtailed at most plants. Odor characteristics must be considered prior to use of this material in new applications, per 3.2.3.
