1 SCOPE.

This specification covers the requirements of solvent-borne clearcoats which, in combination with various solvent-borne or waterborne basecoats, are specifically designed to cure at final line paint repair temperatures of 82 to 100 C. The clearcoats may be single component, alone or in combination with catalysts, or 2 component urethane systems. This specification is not intended to cover low bake repair materials obtained by addition of catalyst to the original OEM material, which are covered under the speciflcation for the OEM base.coat/clearcoat system. Materials approved to this specification are not interchangeable and are approved for use only with the combinations of basecoats, basecoat catalysts, and other components of the total paint system which were used in qualification testing.
