1 SCOPE.
This specification covers the performance and qualification requirements for rigid, exterior etch-resistant basecoat/clearcoat systems. Materials approved under this specification are one-component. solvent-borne paints that are liited to non-US. plants because of solvent emission levels. They require different processing (such as nitrogen blankets on clearcoats and/or higher bake temperatures) as compared to standard acrylic-melamine enamel clearcoat systems and are more resistant to acid etching and water spotting.
