This specification covers the requirements for optical grade opaquing paints to be used over heat sensitive plastic lenses for exterior lighting applications hissing heat distortion temperatures below 82OC. This specification includes first and second surface painting applications.

These opaquing palms we part of a total painted product system and must meet the requirements set forth in this speci- ficauon and those shown on engineering drawings. This specification shall be used in conjunction with the Approved Paint on Plastics Systems (APOPS). a section of Materials Specification File (MATSPC) which lists approved substrate, cleaning, priming, and topcoat combinations.
