Catalysts covered in this specification may be either acid solutions or blends of acids with metal salts. They are added to OEM paint to lower the cure temperature for end-of-line repairs (EOLR). These catalysts are components of clearcoats and monocoat enamel systems. They are also used as components of basecoat/clearcoat systems if the same catalyst is required for both basecoat and clearcoat.
