1 SCOPE.
This specification describes a straight mineral type of gear oil intended for transmissions and other similar applications. 1.1 GENERAL. Oils supplied under this specification shall be properly refined petroleum products free from dirt, water and other foreign matter and shall not have a disagreeable odor. The oils shall not corrode any metal used in the construction of heavy duty transmissions.
