A non staining synthetic elastomeric compound extruded in tape form, serrated to facilitate compressibility and reinforced with cloth to improve strength.

General.

Compound shall be a uniform mixture of synthetic polymers and inert extenders.

Cloth insert shall be a gauze like material uniformly located in the midsection of the tape.

Tape shall adhere well to metal, glass, plastics and painted surfaces even when some oily soil is present. It shall remain pliable and tacky when exposed to temperature, moisture and sunlight conditions as encountered in automotive applications. It shall have excellent resistance to passage of water, water vapor, air and salt mist.

Tape shall not stain, etch or soften plastics or paints as used in automotive applications.
