This specification describes a hypoid gear lubricant suitable for passenger car and light truck standard differential axles. 1.1 GENERAL. This gear oil shall meet all of the requirements of API-GL-5 gear oil service classification except that the gear score test requirements (both CRC L-37 and CRC L- 42) are waived.
