1 SCOPE.

This specification describes the requirements of a grease that can be used in moderate to low pressure vacuum systems, and in other systems where nonreactivity with various chemicals (strong acids, oxidizers, fuels, solvents) is required. The grease is recommended for use in electrical switch contacts, and various mechanisms. Type I (NLGI # 1) grease has a useful temperature operating range of -85°C to 285°C. Type II (NLGI #2) grease has a range of -4O¿ C to 150°C.
