This specification covers a pull tab consisting of a high strength polyester backing coated on one (1) side with a high tack pressure sensitive adhesive or a heat activated adhesive.

Material Description.

The pull tab is used to assist the plant operator in initiating and completing the removal of single coated foam tape, double coated foam tape, and pressure sensitive adhesive coated part release liners.

The pull tab adhesive must have high initial adhesion to the release liner surface. Type I construction is designed to bond to polyolefin liners such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc. Type II construction is designed to bond to silicone coated paper and plastic liners. Type III construction uses a heat activated adhesive to bond to polyolefin liners such as polyethylene, polypropylene, etc.

The adhesive may be covered on one end of the tab with a piece of colored polyethylene or paper.
