1 SCOPE.
This specification covers a thermoplastic corrosion preventive compound which provides a protective coating on vehicle frames, chassis components and additional resistance to dripping at high heat. The coating shall be applied over heated (130 to 150 degrees C), alkaline cleaned bare steel in a hot dip system (130 to 15Odegrees C) to form adherent low gloss films 75 to 300 um thick. The coating shall be 100% solids with no solvents. It shall contain no asphalt of fibrous fillers such as asbestos. It shall be nontoxic and noninjurious to plant personnel.
