This specification covers the qualification and performance requirements of two-component, matte finish (low gloss), high soilds (50 to 55% volume soilds as sprayed), rigid, urethane clearcoats. These clearcoats are intended for use wet-on-wet over solventborne or waterborne basecoats.

In addition, the topcoat system is part of the total coating system and must meet qualifications set forth in this specification and those shown on engineering drawings. Validation testing for plant specific layering, ancillary materials, and processing must be conducted prior to release.
