Material Description. This specification describes an axle lubricant intended to replace previous lubricants (still in use i.e., 9986285) with added friction modifier 9985412. This axle lubricant, suitable for car and truck axles with plate type Limited Slip (LS) differentials, exhibits improved fuel efficiency, lower axle temperature operation, and improved thermal stability as initial and top-off fill satisfying GMW16445.
