Purpose. To define the product, its qualifications for use including application methods and monitoring the applied coating in the end use application. This specification describes a ready-to-use, single source liquid that dries' to a thin coating before application of Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) sealant.

Applicability. A remedial surface treatment for machined aluminum or cast grey iron joint surfaces that may be used in engine joint applications to provide the best possible adhesion of RTV sealant to the metal surface. This liquid product is not to be used on plastics, composites, or other similar non-metallic components. 

The intent of this liquid product is to improve the adhesion of the sealant to clean mating surfaces and not to resolve surface contamination problems.
