SCOPE.
This specification covers chemical and mechanical characteristics for medium carbon and alloy steel bars which have been subject to special die drawing to increase strength. This includes both cold drawing with heavier than normal drafts (reduction of area) and drawing at elevated temperatures. In the case of cold drawing, a stress relieving operation is included in the process.
