This specification details the requirements of high bake sealers intended for use in the body shop to seal body joints against water, dust, and air intrusion. This specification covers a number of sealers that perform a variety of different functions in the body shop.
The material must be a smooth and homogenous mixture free of air, lamps, unmixed particles and foreign materials. It must be capable of being dispensed with standard production pumping equipment.
The material must adhere to oily meals. It must have good weatherability and most not accelerate the rusting of steel over which it is applied. The materials must not have a toxic or noxious order when applied and must be relatively monodorous when cured.
