The materials covered by this specification are hardboards used in various applications as foundation panels. The composition of the board shall be wood fibers impregnated with and bonded together with a resin. The material may bc used flat or can be steamed and formed into foundation panels having minimum contour. This matuial is used for shelf panels, headliners, sunshades, and other areas where it is applicable. Unless otherwise specified., all applications will permit the use of board having a screen pattern on one side and a smooth surface on the opposite side. The smooth side shall be considered the prime surface.

The requirements specified herein apply to formed and unformed boards. The physical property values included in this specification, excluding specific gravity, must be met within the moisture content range specified in Table 1.
