This specification details the performance requirements for an extruded polymer laminate material. These laminate materials shall have a woven (or other suitable material) backing on one side and release paper on the other. These types of materials shall be utilized reinforcements, or stiffening, of body panels.
After removal of the release paper these materials shall have satisfactory pressure sensitive tack to substrates contaminated with production processing oils. These contaminated substrates include cold rolled, steel, electrogalvanzine, and hot dip galvanize.
These materials shall withstand production phosphatizing operations, ELPO operations, and primer/surfaccer and topcoat bake operations, exhibiting temperatures up to 203 C.
Laminate patches, as supplied, shall exhibit a polymer layer that is homogeneous, without voids or gas bubbles.
