1 SCOPE.

1.1 The projection welding process is a form of multi-point resistance welding in which the heat is localized by means of projections embossed upon one of the sheets to be joined. The success of this process is greatly dependent upon the selection and maintenance of the proper projection contours and their location in the sheets being joined. This specification covers the projection contours and edge distances required for metal thicknesses from 0.30 to 12 mm inclusive.
