1 SCOPE.
This specification covers the acceptance criteria for laser butt welds in automotive products for which General Motors is responsible for establishing or approving product design. 1.1 The application of the requirements of this specification is mandatory unless a specific note on the weld/engineering drawing establishes different weld criteria. Any exceptions from these requirements shall be made in accordance with good engineering practice.
