1 SCOPE.

These specifications (NOTE 1) and methods for testing cover latex foam rubbers (cellular rubber products having open and interconnecting cells). They do not cover sponge and expanded rubbers. A grading system is provided for designating core or uncared materials and a wide variety of physical and mechanical properties of each. Choice of base material (natural rubber, synthetic rubber, reclaimed rubber or rubber-like material, alone or in combination) and size, shape, and distribution of coring are intended to be the producer's option but subject to the approval of the purchaser.
