This specification covers the performance requirements of exterior decorative striping and graphics with pressure sensitive adhesive and suitable liner. GM6073 film is intended for exterior decal applications, such as striping, ornamentation, etc., and may include premasks for ease of application, protection during application, or paintable premasks. Typical examples are shown in Figure A1 - see Appendix A. GM6074M is intended for exterior wood grain film. In addition, this specification covers the performance requirements of exterior paint film with pressure sensitive adhesive and suitable liner. The paint film is intended for exterior applications as a substitute for two-tone paint.

Remarks. These films have limited gravel and abrasion resistance. (Use GM6254M for gravel and abrasion resistant films). Applications to body panels requiring specific damage resistance must be tested to establish acceptable design application of the decal. Types IB & IVB have limited exterior weathering resistance. Usage of Types IB and IVB constructions is limited to blackout films, used on, semi-protected areas.
