1 SCOPE.
This specification covers the properties and testing requirements of a label suitable for interior use. The label may be temporary (removable) or permanent. Upon removal of the temporary label, the adhesive shall not adversely affect the mating surface. Typical substrates are cloth and vinyl sun visors, headliners, painted metal, and various plastics, painted and unpainted. Type IA and IB examples are engine start and utility vehicle labels. Type IIA examples are various temporary information labels. Type IIB examples are BTSI, and various permanent infor-mation, notice, and caution labels. Type III examples are the SRS caution and roll over labels for plastic mirror housings, sun visors, and headliners. Type IVA and IVB examples are fuse usage, and various permanent information, notice, and caution labels.
