1 SCOPE.
This specification covers the requirements for cold rolled low carbon steel sheet and strip that is subsequently nickel/zinc alloy coated by the electroplating process. The alloy and its mass/thickness are specified by a grade number. Presently there are two grades included in this specification. Grade 1 is normally used for textured pattern exterior moldings which require good corrosion resistance and a finish suitable for high gloss paint. Grade 2 is normally used for non decorative components that require a clear chromated nickel/zinc coated steel.
