This specification defines the minimum physical requirements for the block, fabricated (mechanical), and molded flexible cellular plastic products known as polyurethane foams.

The foam required under this specification is flexible, high load bearing, open inter-connecting cell, polyether based urethane foam, produced by the interaction of active hydrogen compounds, water and isocyanates. Two (2) main types are high resilient (HR) and conventional foam, produced in molded or free blown, slabstock form.

This specifications is not applicable to polyurethane foams used in foam-in-place applications, carpet underlay or trim backing foams.

Typical Application. This product's main application is for comfort cushioning material, suitable for the fabrication of automotive seat cushions and backs.
