1 SCOPE.
1.1 This specification applies to all resistance projection welded steel fasteners, welded to low carbon steel, used in GM automotive products. This specification also applies to Drawn Arc studs. 1.2 The purpose of this specification is to provide weld acceptance criteria for resistance welded studs and nuts for automotive products. 1.3 The application of the requirements of this specification is mandatory unless a specific note on the engineering drawing establishes different weld criteria.
