1 SCOPE.
This standard provides a convenient means of specifying color identification of metric parts when it is determined that normal part number identification may not adequately insure against mixing of so-called "metric parts" with look-alike "inch parts". It establishes one color, blue (see Section 3) as the standard identifier for use with the following finishes: phosphate and oil, phosphate and paint, zinc, cadmium, dichromated zinc, dichromated cadmium, and plain.
