SCOPE.

1.1 When a mobile transmitter is used on a vehicle, or when vehicle is driven near high power transmitting antennas, the radiated field couples, either directly or through the wiring harness, into electronic devices on the vehicle. It is shown (10.1) that in the frequency range of interest (l-500 MHz) the predominant coupling occurs through the wiring harness. To simulate this coupling, using a bench test setup, a method called bulk current injection (BCI) is used. BCI provides non-intrusive method of compatibility evaluation since the wiring harness is not broken.
