1 SCOPE.

1.1 This procedure covers the recommended testing technique for determining the immunity of automotive electronic devices intended for vehicle use, to magnetic fields generated by power transmission lines and generating stations. Electronic systems may be affected when immersed in a magnetic field. These fields consist of the fundamental (60 Hz) signal of AC power generation audits odd harmonics. Consequently, elcctronic devices in vehicles that are driven near these sources may be subjected to these fields.
