1 SCOPE
1.1 Automotive electronic services shall be tested according to the following procedure in order to classify their sensitivity to electrostatic discharge (ESD) during handling and for appropiate packaging. This cIassification recommends appropiate packaging techniques which reduces the risk of ESD induced damage or degradation. All electronic components supplied to or by GM without an ESD sensitivity classification are considered extremely sensitive to ESD.
