1 SCOPE.

This specification is intended to clarify and standardize the manner in which component appearance is specified and assessed. It contains a checklist (see Table 1) which may be used in product requirement drawings for specifying the appearance of electrical switches, clusters, radios, HVAC controllers, etc. Component appearance is defined by the 8 topics covered by this standard listed below. Definitions of other terms used in this document may be found in Appendix A. A glossary is provided in GM9603P, Procedure for Measuring Electrical Component Appearance.
