This standard describes the test procedure to determine the amount of contact between a tape attached part and the mating surface.

The amount of contact (i.e. wet-out) between a tape attached part and the mating surface is dependent on a number of factors, some of which are surface match, part flexibility, application fixture pressure, tape thickness and others. Tape attached parts can include body side moldings, roof ditch moldings, body claddings, weatherstrips, close-out seals, appliques, nameplates, emblems and other miscellaneous parts.
