This specification details the requirements for windshield flange tape compatible with one component clearcoat, repair tape or tutone tape used in the paint shop for adherence to topcoat paints in masking. This tape must bond to and detach from the painted vehicle surfaces without any adhesive transfer, discoloration or paint removal.
The windshield flange tape for one component clearcoat, repair tape or tutone tape must not have any adverse effects on the following test methods. They must also not have any negative impact on the paint systems at the various assembly plants.
